After reading a couple reviews and since i had nothing better to do last night, i pursued Dragon Oath. Ooooh was that the wrong decision.
Let me tell you first my adventures BEFORE actualy geting to see what a piece of crap game it is.
Well first of all i apply and get a beta-key from mmorpg.com. All easy peasy, the key got to my mail immediately(i love mmorpg.com’s fast delivery). Anyway i follow the steps in the e-mail and go to the Dragon Oath website to create an account. I fill in all the information and when i click send, surprise surprise! My IP is banned! What? How can my ip be banned? I never even touched the game/website and i’m banned? Normaly at this point i would say screw this and move on but like i said i had nothing better to do so … i go to their forums. Lurk arround for about 20 min in the forums to eventualy find a 2 page post where if you scroll through all the bulljit you eventualy find out that a lot of countries are banned … a lot of countries and Europe. Europe? The Whole goddamn Europe is banned? Again, becuase i have nothing to do .. i scroll down to see if other ppl had the same problem i did and somewhere on page 7 i find a guy, moderator i think that finaly reveals that there is actualy an european server and website where we could go to and get a beta key. The only information about this was on page friggin 7 on the forum! Can you belive the retardness?
Anyway .. i go to this european website which has nothing to do with Dragon Oath .. it’s someting like TLBLB or something and i try to make an account and authenticate the key i allready have … surprise! the key is no good. So they distribute keys through an internationaly read website and then for europe servers they don’t work! Again, ratarded!!!
At this point i’m thinking really fuck it! But at least let’s take a look at the screenshots. I look arround the website searching for the screenshots and somewhere i find the information that if you go to the forum you will be able to get a beta key. On the forum, i find that there is a sort of a contest .. with no rules or whatever that says that if you can give them a good server name for their servers you will get a key. At this point i’m really dissapointed and post on the forum (which has separate registration even tho it’s on the same website as the game account; i friggin hate it when they make you register in 100 places when they could share a user database and grant you access to everything once you have an account) about how i allready have a key and how i would like to exchange my US key with an European one.
Well i got no response from the forums but .. further browsing the website i find a secluded page where i get a bunch of links pointing to some websites that give keys away. I go to one of those websites and in less than 30 seconds i get a key.
I’m thinkin yaaay! Finaly after 40 minutes i got a working key! And it is working! I register an account, register the key, everything is all right, i put all the previous bullshit behind and go to the downloa page to get the client.
Suspiciously, the client has arround 600 megabytes. hmmm … no self respecting mmo has 600 mbs! Still .. i go forward, cuz i worked so hard to get the damn thing going and i download the client, install and then open.
Update update update .. click click click … login , create a character (female ofcourse) and start game…
The HOROOOR! Looks just like every other shitty Korean MMO you have ever seen! Eevn worse than some!
Now … i ask you this .. why does an US based game studio want to build a MMORPG that looks just like every other korean mmorpgs out there and build a separate European server for it?
Whyyy? Why can’t there be some kind of MMO authority that will kill off these failed projects to save us the wasted time and bandwidth used to register and download these shitty so called games! Whyyyyyy?
Bottom line is – Dragon Oath is a giant piece of turd. It’s not worth getting it even if you have to play solitaire. Go get 9 dragons go get anything but Dragon Oath.
Your kidding aren`t you, 9 Dragons was boring as bumwash and i know what i`m talking about I had 3 chars over fc5 one with 24k GK. The amount of bugs in accaim`s 9D astounded me for a game that was made in KOREA, how you can even compare it to the game you flame without even playing it. Pity Persistant Worlds server got canned during beta , they were a much more professional outfit than acclaim.

I am not kidding. I played the gentleman’s hour and got so bored i had to delete the damn thing. 9 Dragons is not an example for excellence. i was just pointing out that even that is better than Dragon Oath. And you give Perfect world as an example for a good game? Dude get serious. If you would have gone for Lineage then maybe i would have belived u but Perfect world is not a game to give as an example.
Further more if you will read carefully, you will notice that i said what i said because it is an US based studio. You will know what i mean if you research the difference between US, EU and Asian mmorpg styles.
